Automatic arm restraints are needed to keep the arm locked into a position relative to the carriage. Ultimately, there are several factors that must be considered to determine which is the better option for your lift and your shop. Oil is rated and identified by its viscosity, which determines its ability to flow at different temperatures. The lower the number, the thinner the oil and the more easily it flows. Is neither "better nor worse" than. The numbers refer only to the viscosity, not to the quality.

For our above ground lifts. AW-32 (lower number than AW-46). Will flow "better" in colder weather than AW-46. Customers in colder climates (with unheated garages or service areas) may want to use.

Above ground lifts located in heated garages (or warmer climates) may use either. The pressurized hydraulic fluid flows into the side of the cylinder rod (there is a metal cap on the end of the rod) and moves up through the length of the hollow cylinder rod into the cylinder. The pressure of the hydraulic fluid (inside the cylinder) pushes against the top of the piston rod and the cylinder (attached to the carriage) travels up inside the column. This is the process that raises the vehicle. The pressurized hydraulic fluid in the cylinder can not move "back down" through the hollow rod against the pressure of the hydraulic fluid moving "up".

The top of the piston rod is slightly smaller than the inside of the honed cylinder. The piston head has one polyurethane sealing-Ring located in the centre groove of the head, and two "positioning" synthetic seal guides located near the top and bottom the piston rod head.

The sealing O-Ring prevents the cylinder's pressurized hydraulic fluid from"sleeping around" the piston head. The two "positioning" seal guides prevent the metal piston head from contacting the honed cylinder walls during the travel sequence. The cables on 2 post car lifts are used to synchronize the 2 hydraulic cylinders (one in each column) so they travel at the same position duringthe lift cycle. This synchronization equalizes the hydraulic pressure for each cylinder allowing the 2 sides to be locked at a level position. This is achieved by properly adjusting the lift cables. You will want the top of the lift carriage visible to see and access the adjustment nut on top of the cable. Note whichside the lock is engaging (clicking noise) first while raising the lift.

Feel the tension on each cable to see that they are similar and that one cable is not tighter than the other. Too much tension on one cable can cause other lift issues. To equalize the cables you will adjust the nut on the side that the lock was engaging first. This will cause the other side to raise up and equalize.

Only adjust a few turns at a time then recheck the locking positions. You want to hear both locks engage at the same time while maintaining as equal tension on both cables as possible. Once the cables have been synchronized, you may notice that the cables will lose their equalization after lifting several vehicles. This is normal due to cable stretching and will only need readjustment when you notice the locks are not clicking together. Simply cycle the lift up and down a few cycles.

When the lift is lowered all the way, continue to hold the lowering valve for about 10-15 seconds for each cycle before lifting again. Holding the lowering valve while the lift is fully down will bleed any air back into the reservoir tank which will allow the air to escape through the vented cap. The cables serve to keepeach lifting carriage at equal levels so the car doesn't rise unevenly. Tension the cables lightly to keep the min place. Pressure to the hydraulic cylinders lifts the car, and its weight provides the force to compress the cylinders and lower the car. (Rather than to a residential address). Although we despatch the goods on a 24 hour service it is not always guaranteed. All goods need to be signed for, so please supply us with an address where somebody will be in to sign for the goods. Our carriers will not leave the goods without a signature. Please do not sign for goods and then report to us that they are damaged, as you will have to return the goods at your own expense. Professional installation is available for all UK region by our automotive lift engineers. We do have a very strict floor requirement, we will advice the minimum requirement.

A drill test is advisable if you have no idea of the thickness, if you have previously a lift installed inside the premises the floor normally should be OK. We will apply a concrete strength technology on each installation even when the minimum requirement is present to raise up the thickness of your concrete to more than 5000PSI, FREE of charge part of the fitting!

We also offer to all our customers a 3.6 and 12 months service schedule (OPTIONAL), on that day the Engineers will carry out a safety inspection check, fully service the lift... For more details please ask our engineers on the day of your site installation. However, should you require to return any product, we will allow you to do so within 7 days of the day after receipt.
